Adaware 2009

Adaware at one point in time was our favorite spyware removal tool, but has made changes in the last 4-5 years that have dropped them down a notch in our eyes.

Adaware used to be 100% free. They decided to come out with a pro version, and to tell you the truth the free version worked better. I can't count the number of times we've uninstalled the "pro version" because it wasn't doing the job, only to re-install the free version and have it clean the mess right up. This was of course years ago, and maybe they have since changed.

Adaware the "free version" is top class. While it is a bit more of a resource hog than SpyBot S&D it does run smooth, and get the adware / spyware removed. Adaware also has some really cool skins and a decent community to support them. (read The Origin of Skins)
