Stop Spam with reCAPTCHA
Spam stinks we know. We all hate those those guys that Hijack forum post and try to sell you Mexican Horse Viagra.
Well what can you do? Well to stop the Automatic Bot submissions you can integrate reCAPTCHA.
reCAPTCHA is a captcha program that serves 2 masters.
What reCaptcha Does
- Stops Spam Bots
- Digitizes Books
How does reCaptcha work you ask? Well 2 text strings are displayed for the user. 1 is the real string the other is a string that a scanner was not able to digitize, or turn into characters. These images often have scratches, or lines through them, or the ink didn't for a perfect letter. When you type the characters in the computer then compares your answer to answers from other users and will select the correct answer according to some algorithm they've developed. If you look at the example above I'm going to guess that the word on the right "threw" is the known word while the word on the left belayed is the unknown word. See how its all floppy/ distorted looking weird.
